Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in America!

Or, as it’s called here in Israel…….. Thursday.

Missing everyone, but we have a Thanksgiving potluck at school tonight, so I won’t be missing out on the holiday entirely.

Also, have fun at the malls tomorrow. Ours will be functioning normally, with no 6 am/5 am/4 am or whatever-shenanigans-they’re-pulling-this-year sales, thank you very much.

I’m very thankful for having made it to where I am today, and to all of those who helped me along the way: my grade school teachers, everyone at Temple Kol Emeth in Georgia, NFTY and KEFTY, my university professors in Maryland, the religious school staff and clergy at Temple Shalom in Maryland, the Hillel people at UMD, the staff at the DCJCC and everyone in GLOE, the staff at PIRG/EA, my ballroom dance team, my friends, and of course, my family.

I’m also extraordinarily grateful for all those here in Israel who have been understanding and helpful while I’m still in this recovery process with PTSD and all the other craziness it entails. (I’m also oh-so-thankful for socialized medicine, which makes a month’s worth of my meds, without insurance coverage, only 55 NIS, which is less than $15. Go socialism!)

So, if you’re my friend, family, colleague, classmate, whatever… thanks!

People even made hand turkeys at school. I didn't. I was working in the library instead. But we have some Jewish hand turkeys chilling at HUC right now.

I still have quite a bit of work on my plate, but if you want to talk to me, we can totally set a Skype date time — just let me know when!

חג הודיה שמח (Chag Hodiya Same’ach — Happy Thanksgiving!)
